Farmers Market
Savannah, Georgia
Forsyth Farmers' Market ties its Saturday market to a wider food-access network that includes Step-Up Savannah, giving this Savannah market a role that extends beyond weekly shopping. In Forsyth Park, the market is defined as food-only and producer-only, with vendors selling what they grow or produce themselves. That framework shapes the mix on the ground: farm products, prepared foods, and horticulture vendors share the market, while farmers remain the priority in the vendor ratio. For a visitor, that means the market's identity is unusually clear from the start—fresh food, direct producers, and a setting anchored in one of Savannah's best-known parks.
Forsyth Farmers' Market describes itself as Savannah's food-only, producer-only market, a distinction that keeps the focus on direct sales from growers and makers rather than resale. Its vendor rules require that sellers grow or produce the items they bring, covering both farm products and prepared foods while maintaining a 60% farm-product to 40% prepared-food ratio. That structure matters in a city market because it gives produce, meats, eggs, plants, and other agricultural goods a defined place each Saturday instead of letting ready-to-eat vendors take over.
The market's local footprint also reaches beyond the stalls. Its work includes 912 Food Farmacy and SNAP/EBT enrollment, and its listed partners include Step-Up Savannah, Wholesome Wave Georgia, Farm Truck 912, and public-health organizations serving Coastal Georgia. Taken together, those programs and partnerships connect the market to food access and public-health efforts in Savannah and the wider Coastal Georgia area.
The vendor mix runs from raw ingredients to prepared foods, but the market's own rules keep farm products at the center with a 60/40 split favoring farmers. That shows up in a lineup where produce, meat, eggs, mushrooms, honey, plants, breads, coffee, and pantry goods all have a place.
No dogs are allowed, which is the detail most likely to change a Saturday plan for anyone heading to Forsyth Park with a pet. The market takes place at 1 West Park Avenue in Forsyth Park and runs on Saturdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm year-round. Restrooms are not available, so it helps to plan that stop before arriving. If you want the strongest look at what defines this market, start with the farm-product vendors: the market requires vendors to grow or produce what they sell and prioritizes farmers in its vendor mix. For questions before you go, the market lists a phone number at (912) 495-8484.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at Forsyth Farmers' Market, and SNAP/EBT enrollment is also part of the market's ongoing work. That fits with a broader food-access network that includes Wholesome Wave Georgia and Step-Up Savannah among the market's listed partners. Payment methods are presented clearly for visitors, which helps if you're planning a produce-first stop rather than a cash-only errand.
Open year-round, rain or shine; only exception is extreme weather. Market location is in Forsyth Park at the south end at the intersection of Bull Street and Park Avenue.

A Saturday tradition in Savannah! I buy my produce and meat here, it's wonderful to support the local small farmers! The market has grown tremendously in the past few years with local artists expanding it up to the north end of the park. A wonderful family friendly outing 😊
So many great finds! It’s amazing vibe at the farmers market such a huge variety of vendors with so many fresh items! The crowd was vibrant and full of energy! Loved every moment!
One of my favorite things to do when visiting. So many great samples and friendly vendors. Seeing the art and handmade crafts is a plus! Definitely worth the trip if you’re in town.
Friendly vendors, informative, very fresh produce. Love the ice cream bars. Love the salsa, Fruit, salad and veggies. These are my favorite things there even though one could find some interesting things other than my favorite things.
Lots of variety and plenty of vendors! You can get eggs, meat, flowers, veggies, peaches, and there were some home made sauces and even a few home made goods. Nice and easy walk, not too crowded.
