Farmers Market
Rockmart, Georgia
Rockmart Farmers Market stands out for its cooperation with Wholesome Wave Georgia on Double SNAP, tying the market’s weekly shopping directly to expanded produce buying power. On Thursdays, the market gathers on Water Street in downtown Rockmart, behind Colony Bank and right next to the Silver Comet Trail, giving it a distinctly downtown-trailside setting. It runs year-round and keeps a producer-only standard, so the mix is built around vendors selling what they grow, bake, make, or prepare themselves. That combination—steady schedule, direct producer focus, and Double SNAP support—shapes a market that is practical for weekly shopping as much as casual browsing.
The producer-only rule is the clearest statement of what Rockmart Farmers Market is trying to preserve: vendors must produce what they bring to market. That keeps the market tied to farm and maker work happening in and around Rockmart rather than resold inventory. The vendor roster reflects that approach across food and home goods, from naturally grown produce and family-farm offerings to handmade soaps, candles, and European-style baked goods.
Its partnership with Wholesome Wave Georgia adds another local role by supporting Double SNAP at the market. The market also extends beyond its regular Thursday footprint by encouraging vendors to participate in events such as Welshfest, the Silver Comet Festival, the Cedartown Arts Festival, and the Hunny Pot Festival.
The mix at Rockmart Farmers Market leans toward a compact but varied producer lineup, with farm produce, preserved foods, flowers, baked goods, and bath-and-body makers all represented. Because the market is producer-only, the stalls read less like a resale assortment and more like a set of individual specialties brought by the people who make them.
Beyond the weekly market, the calendar includes a Market Preview for April 16th. In November and December, local artisans and craftsmen may join the market to sell creations and handmade goods, adding a holiday-market layer to the usual food-and-farm mix. Vendors are also encouraged to participate in Welshfest, the Silver Comet Festival, the Cedartown Arts Festival, and the Hunny Pot Festival. Rockmart Farmers Market’s setting is defined by movement and downtown edges: it sits on Water Street, behind Colony Bank, and right next to the Silver Comet Trail. That location gives the market a clear geographic identity inside downtown Rockmart rather than a detached lot or fairground setup. One visitor described it as open every Thursday with local farmers and farm vendors selling seasonal produce and products, a description that fits the market’s year-round, producer-only frame. Another visitor noted it as a weekly Thursday stop, which matches the market’s steady place in the downtown routine. The result is a market experience shaped as much by where it sits—trailside, downtown, behind the bank—as by the vendor tables themselves.
No dogs are allowed, which is one of the clearest visit rules to plan around. For parking, Colony Bank’s lot is reserved for bank patrons, and vendors setting up before the 2pm opening are instructed not to park there either. Visitors are instead directed to use downtown parking lots, where there is described as plenty of parking.
For GPS, use 108 Water St., Rockmart, GA 30153, or the intersection of Water Street and Church Street in downtown Rockmart. The market is behind Colony Bank and next to the Silver Comet Trail, which helps once you are close. Restrooms are not available on site.
Rockmart Farmers Market accepts SNAP/EBT, and its cooperation with Wholesome Wave Georgia supports Double SNAP at the market. A visitor also noted that many vendors take plastic, though cash can still be useful for some purchases. The most concrete payment planning point is that SNAP is accepted here.
Colony Bank's parking lot is for bank patrons; there is plenty of parking in downtown parking lots. Market opens at 2pm; vendors set up prior to 2 and should not park in the Colony Bank parking lot.
Outdoor market located in downtown Rockmart behind Colony Bank and right next to the Silver Comet Trail; closest GPS address is 108 Water St. Vendors may not set up prior to 12:45pm without prior permission.

Every Thursday (excluding those that fall in November and December) find the finest fruit, produce and other homemade goodies delved out by the friendliest farmers and artisans. 2 - 6 PM on Thursday afternoons. A stop for me every week. Many vendors take plastic, but I always like to have cash. Be sure to support your local market for the healthiest and freshest produce.
I love the farmers market! Great people and great selection of produce. I did get totally ripped off by a peach vendor here though. I bought a box of peaches for $40 and they never ripened; they just rotted. I have purchased boxes of peaches before and never had this happen. This was the first for me and it's very disappointing. So buyer beware when you buy peaches. 😟
I love this market so much that I drive 40 minutes one way to go every Thursday. A mother and daughter team run it and they are the sweetest! The vendors have the highest quality products and unique options. They also double your SNAP/EBT!!! Their produce last forever as well.
Lots of farmers selling their organic food. Meats, veggies, bake goods, arts and crafts, plants and so much more. These people are so friendly. Do come on out and see for yourself.
