Farmers Market
Sanibel, Florida
At 800 Dunlop Road, the Sanibel Island Farmers Market runs as a seasonal Sunday market in Sanibel, with Local Roots, LLC listed as its operator. The setup is straightforward: one weekly market window from October through May, anchored by a vendor lineup that leans heavily toward prepared foods, produce, baked goods, seafood, and specialty pantry items. The market’s vendor roster also gives it a distinctly island-specific feel, with parking spread across nearby civic and arts destinations including Sanibel City Hall, the Sanibel Library, BIG Arts, and Schoolhouse Theater.
The strongest through-line here is variety across ready-to-eat foods and take-home staples, rather than a produce-only market. Alongside fresh produce, the roster includes seafood, sauces, baked goods, salt, pickles, juice, and several vendors centered on prepared dishes.
No dogs are allowed, which is one of the clearest visit rules to plan around before heading out. Parking is distributed across several nearby public and cultural sites rather than a single dedicated market lot: Sanibel City Hall, Sanibel Library, BIG Arts, and Schoolhouse Theater are all listed for parking. If you are arriving by bike, bicycle parking is at the designated area at City Hall, and handicap parking is also located at City Hall. The market does not list restrooms in its visitor details, so it makes sense to plan your stop as a focused Sunday shop between 9am and 1pm during the October-to-May season.
No pets allowed; the market does not allow dogs in the vendor area. Parking is available in multiple nearby lots, and handicap parking is located at City Hall.

Lots of options for food, produce, pastries, smoothies. Everything is delicious. Wish I had more days to stay or I would have gotten LOTS more food. Vendors are friendly and willing to give a sample if undecided.
My first visit to the farmers market and I was blown away. Lots of great vendors providing a wide range of fresh produce and other supplies if you're staying on the island. We stocked up on fresh fruit, fish, vegetables as well as some other delicious ready made provisions including freshly-made guacamole/ceviche/salsa and fruit juices.
Lots of food options. Beautiful fruits and vegetables. But the true standouts for me were the Turkish linen products and the Filipino food stand. Some of the best pork adobo I’ve had in a while. I can’t wait to return again for a meal!
The best farmers market I have ever gone to! Large variety of fruits and vegatables along with food trucks, and so much more! We look forward to it every Sunday!
This place is so much fun, we stop and shop every Sunday we are here. The fresh food is amazing, and the variety is too. Lots to choose from, and most of the vendors are happy to discuss their products in depth if there is time. It's crowded and there are lines, but worth the trip. Ride a bike if possible, easy to get up close parking.
