Farmers Market
Washington, District of Columbia
FRESHFARM CityCenterDC Market pairs a downtown Washington shopping stop with FRESHFARM’s broader food-system mission, linking this market to an organization focused on when and where its markets operate and on supporting that work over time. Set at 1098 New York Avenue NW in CityCenterDC, the market sits within a dense central-business setting rather than a park or school plaza, which shapes a quicker, errand-friendly visit. The market runs seasonally from May through October, giving CityCenterDC a defined warm-weather window for direct farmer sales in the middle of the District. SNAP is accepted here, making the market part of FRESHFARM’s food-access work as well as its retail footprint.
FRESHFARM’s markets are designed to strengthen the local food system by creating economic opportunities for farmers and local businesses, fueling local economies, and providing food access points available to all. That mission matters at CityCenterDC because the market brings that structure directly into downtown Washington rather than limiting direct farm sales to residential neighborhoods or campus settings. FRESHFARM also states that its markets are producers-only, meaning every farmer and producer grows or makes what they sell themselves. For shoppers, that sets a clear expectation about who is behind the table. The network draws farms and food businesses from across the Mid-Atlantic and within 200 miles of Washington, DC, tying purchases here to a regional production base instead of anonymous wholesale channels. FRESHFARM further offers seasonal shopping resources for eaters, including Mid-Atlantic guidance on what is in season.
No dogs are allowed at FRESHFARM CityCenterDC Market, which is the single rule most likely to change plans if you usually bring a pet along on errands. Restrooms are not available, so this is better approached as a shorter stop than a long linger. The market is located at 1098 New York Avenue NW in CityCenterDC, with Park at CityCenter named nearby for orientation in the district. Because the season runs from May through October, timing matters if you are planning a repeat visit later in the year. FRESHFARM also maintains shopper resources about engaging with the local food system and making the most of market shopping, including seasonality guidance that can help shape what you look for week to week. For general market questions, FRESHFARM lists a main phone number at 202.391.7353.
SNAP is accepted at FRESHFARM CityCenterDC Market, an important detail for shoppers planning how to pay at this location. Payment methods are presented clearly for visitors, which helps reduce guesswork before arrival. Across FRESHFARM’s broader market work, food access programs named on its site include Fresh Match, Produce Plus, and Market Share.
This location is described as a pickup site for FRESHFARM’s Market Share.

Nice small farmers market offering fruits, veggies and prepared foods in one spot. Near the fountain area so it’s very relaxing. You can get your produce then some food and sit around to eat before leaving.
Very small but convenient market for a quick lunch or snack downtown. Had the crab cake - delicious! and a cold-pressed juice (beet, apple, ginger). Had a good variety of options.
Clean, friendly spot for lunch, farm fresh vegetables and fruit, eggs & flowers! Only on Tuesday, may-october
I haven't shopped at this market in years and I use to go shopping with my late Mother here when I was a kid of 12 up to now and this is absolutely great! My son is 4th generation who will shop with me this summer, oh how he's going to enjoy it so very much! He happens to be a Chef and this makes me want to do the ☺HAPPY DANCE...LOL!
They are only there from May to October and only on Tuesdays. But it's worth making the trip to go! I recommend it. Try the Timber Pizza and the DMV Empanadas!
