Farmers Market
Dc, District of Columbia
Capital Harvest on the Plaza runs from May through November in downtown DC, with a vendor mix that leans heavily toward prepared food, baked goods, and drinks rather than a produce-forward shopping list. The lineup ranges from wood-fired pizza and Western African grill fare to gluten-free bakery items, cold-pressed juices, frozen limeade, and freshly squeezed lemonade made to order. One visitor noted that the market opens only on Wednesdays and singled out the fresh lemonade as a standout. That makes this market especially useful for a midweek lunch stop or a grab-and-go food run in the center of the city.
The strongest pattern here is ready-to-eat food with a broad mix of cuisines, plus sweets, breads, and cold drinks for a fast lunch or snack-focused visit. Dietary variety is part of the mix too, with gluten-free baking, plant-based prepared food, and several beverage specialists represented.
Wednesday is the key planning detail here: one visitor specifically called out that the market opens only on Wednesdays, so this is a midweek stop rather than a weekend market routine. Dogs are not allowed, and restrooms are not available on site. Payment is a little easier than cash-only markets; one visitor reported that most vendors take credit cards, and the market lists payment methods clearly. If you're deciding what kind of trip to make, the vendor roster points toward prepared meals, drinks, and bakery items first, with enough range to cover lunch, dessert, and take-home bread in one pass.

Happened to be at right place, right time! This market opens only on Wednesdays. Great food!! I have tried fresh lemonade, really good! They squeeze a lemon in front of you, drop the halves into your cup!!
Wow! So many options whether you want lunch, a tea, a dessert, veggies/fruits, or even organic lotion! The vendors are friendly and knowledgeable. Most take credit card. I expected the prices to be pretty high but they were actually standard. It’s a great way to support farmers and small businesses in the region and so fun!
This also happens on Wednesdays! Whoever owns this Google page needs to correct the hours so vendors don't get missed! It's a great market with great vendors!
While the USDA market by Smithsonian draws in all the tourist crowds, CHOP market is more diverse and nicely tucked away in the Reagan International Trade Center plaza right off the Federal Triangle stop. The 20+ vendors has changed over the years with more ethnic cuisines - Moroccan, Ethiopian, Venezuelan arepas, Asian Bun'd Up and healthier options with VegHeaven and juice station Senzu. Let's not forget dessert with a slew of pastries, baked goods, lemonades, and ice cream concession stands. There's also a strong contender to Timber PIzza - Cipolla Rossa, will have to try it next time!...
