Farmers Market
Ridgefield, Connecticut
RIDGEFIELD FARMERS’ MARKET centers its mission on cultivating relationships between local growers, makers, and the Ridgefield community, with an emphasis on supporting local agriculture and environmental initiatives. The market runs on Ridgefield’s historic Main Street setting and describes itself as a place for farm fresh produce, baked goods, specialty items, family activities, and live music. That combination gives the market a clear shape: a seasonal Saturday stop built around direct local food purchasing, with extra attention to education, community involvement, and the town’s agricultural roots.
Ridgefield ties this market directly to the town’s agricultural past and to current efforts to protect the environment that makes local growing possible. The market’s mission is not just to host vendors, but to act as a catalyst for relationships between local growers and makers within the community and to involve Ridgefield residents in supporting local agriculture and environmental initiatives.
That local emphasis also shows up in the vendor standards. RIDGEFIELD FARMERS’ MARKET operates as a producers-only market, requiring applicants to grow or make what they sell on their own local land or space. The organization also draws on named leadership and board participation, including founder and board president Corrin Arasa and co-executive directors Carrie King and Kelly Cassaro.
The market describes a mix anchored by producers-only selling, with food and goods coming from growers, artisans, and producers rather than resale tables. Alongside shopping, the Saturday market also highlights baked goods, specialty items, family activities, and live music as part of the weekly experience.
Seasonally, the market presents family activities and live music alongside its produce, baked goods, and specialty-item offerings.
No dogs are allowed, a rule worth planning around before you head over. The market is seasonal rather than year-round, with Saturday hours from 10:00 to 1:00 during the June 20 to October 3 run. It is held at Jesse Lee Greens on the grounds of Jesse Lee Church, on the site of the original town green and in the middle of town on Main Street.
Facilities are limited in at least one practical way: restrooms are not available. If you want a closer sense of how the market connects to working farms beyond the Saturday setup, market materials point shoppers toward The Hickories on Lounsbury Road and Henny Penny in Ridgebury. Volunteers are also part of how the market operates, with onsite help and committee roles built into the organization’s plans.
Location: Jesse Lee Greens (Jesse Lee Church grounds), 207 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT. Family activities and live music are mentioned.

If you're craving fresh fruit during winter, head to Ridgefield Organics for a delightful selection of fruits and vegetables! In mid-January, I discovered the ripest, juiciest, and sweetest Sumo mandarins and Spanish plums. For those who consider fresh produce essential for their health beyond what an HMO can offer, Ridgefield Organics is a reliable partner. The manager, Alex, is very knowledgeable and can help beginners make excellent choices. The owner, Mark, is generous and always willing to assist. Great staff all around. Be sure to ask for their email alerts so you can be among the first...
This is my favorite place to grocery shop. RO has the best fruits and vegetables, gorgeous seasonal produce, local mushrooms, hard to find spices and ingredients and the BEST homemade granolas. I love everyone who works there- they even give me carrot tops for my cow! Every beautiful dish I make at home starts at RO.
I love this place. Just moved to area but I’ve been a few times. The produce is always fresh and delicious and their dairy products are unmatched. Also nice gourmet selection, and their dairy guacamole is out of this world
Met the owner today, and he was delightful to speak with about his longevity in the field. It's lovely to support someone who is passionate about having the right employees as well as vendors to give the community the best quality of product and overall consistency.
The vegetables are so good, and the fruit is incredibly fresh and delicious. The store is always clean and well-stocked with high-quality produce. Definitely the best market in Ridgefield, CT!
