Farmers Market
Woodland, California
The Woodland Farmers Market traces its mission to bringing fresh and local goods to Woodland and describes itself as one of Northern California’s best farmers markets. The market began after two small family farmers met in 1995 and officially opened in 1996 as a weekly summer season market so Woodland residents could have easy access to fresh local produce. That origin still shapes the market today: a seasonal downtown stop with farm produce, prepared food, baked goods, and handmade products gathered in one place at 250 First Street.
The Woodland Farmers Market started specifically to give Woodland residents easy access to fresh local produce, and it has operated since 1996 as a weekly summer season market built from that goal. Its own language stays focused on bringing fresh and local goods to the Woodland community rather than treating the market as only a shopping event.
That local role also shows up in the market’s continued summer-season format and its mix of food, farm goods, and fundraising events tied to market programs. The calendar includes Kids Farmers Market and Story Time alongside tomato tasting, a salsa competition, and fundraisers, which keeps the market connected to Woodland families and repeat weekly use.
Summer fruit is one of the clearest through-lines here, with several vendors named for peaches, apricots, cherries, grapes, nectarines, pluots, and strawberries rather than a generic produce mix. The vendor roster also stretches into bakery items, prepared food, pantry staples, body care, candles, and ranch products, so the market reads as both a farm stop and a broader weekly shopping run.
The event calendar adds recurring family programming and seasonal specials. Kids Farmers Market and Story Time appear alongside the 2025 Tomato Fest, which includes a salsa competition and tomato tasting winners, as well as Paint and Sip Fundraiser, Cocktail for the Cause, Chalk on the Block events, and fundraisers for the Kids Farmers Market.
The biggest planning detail is the 2024 move to First Street, where the market says it has better parking and less confusion for customers. The market’s address is 250 First Street in Woodland, placing it in the downtown area rather than at its earlier locations.
Dogs are not allowed, which matters if you usually bring a pet on weekend errands. Restrooms are not available on site. If you need a direct contact, the market lists a phone number at (530) 304-4563. Those details make this one to approach as a focused stop: park nearby, shop the season, and plan any pet or restroom needs before arrival.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at The Woodland Farmers Market, an important option for shoppers using food assistance benefits. The market also presents payment information clearly for visitors, which helps if you want to plan purchases across produce, prepared foods, baked goods, and pantry items.
Kids events are free; Saturday market includes Story Time provided by the Woodland Public Library beginning at 10:30am.

It’s wonderful! Small market with diverse vendors. Honeybee Bakery bread is amazing! The hummus has several fabulous flavors. All the produce I purchased was delicious and so fresh!
This is my first time coming to this farmers market as a vendor of craft items. I liked how it is sectioned on a street that's blocked off from traffic, in front of the library. There were a lot of good Avengers there selling fruit, sunflowers and eggs. The craft vendors had some really nice items as well. It was a nice, peaceful event that I look forward to in the future. And some of the Farmers Market vendors also accept ebt.
Is nice to have a place to go n buy n see a variety of products from our community at the same time that you're visiting the library for book or children's story time
