Farmers Market
Pasadena, California
At 100 N. Garfield Ave., this summer evening market brings Pasadena shoppers to City Hall for a seasonal midweek run of farm goods and prepared foods. The Pasadena farmers market organization traces its work in the city back to 1980 and operates under the City of Pasadena Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department. At this location, the draw is a mix that goes beyond produce alone: fresh local fruits and vegetables, fish, meats, baked goods, juices, yogurt, pasta, and pantry items all appear in the vendor lineup. The result is a market that can work for a grocery stop, a snack-and-stroll evening, or a quick pickup on the way home.
Fresh local fruits, vegetables, and farm products are central here, and the market also layers in seafood, meats, baked goods, dairy, drinks, and a few practical specialty vendors rather than craft sellers. That mix gives this Wednesday market a more dinner-oriented feel, with ingredients, ready-to-eat items, and pantry add-ons all in the same stop.
The broader market lineup also includes certified growers plus non-certified agricultural products, with vendors selling ranch-raised meats, fresh baked goods, prepared farm-fresh food, and floral and plants.
No dogs is the clearest policy to plan around for this market. SNAP/EBT is accepted, and the market organization also notes an information booth where shoppers can check in for program details. The Pasadena markets run under city sponsorship through the Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department, and the organization emphasizes certified vendors who sell what they grow, along with other approved farm-product sellers. One other useful distinction: the market does not permit craft vendors, so the focus stays on food, agricultural products, and related specialty stands rather than handmade goods.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at Pasadena’s farmers markets, including this seasonal Wednesday evening location. The market organization highlights an information booth for program details, which is the place to sort out how benefits are used on-site. Payment information is presented clearly by the market, making this a practical stop for shoppers planning to use food assistance alongside regular purchases.
The market is open rain or shine. The site notes that animals are not allowed except service animals (not allowed under the tarps), and it includes COVID-19 precaution guidance for guests. It also mentions an information booth and market tokens using Square when cash runs out.

This is probably the most beautiful City Hall I've seen so far. The architecture is stunning and the views on top are also amazing. Every angle is a great spot for photos. The place is free and you can even climb all the way on top to see the beautiful windows arches and views of the Dome and mountain. It's also walking distance from a lot of restaurants and stores.
Updated Review! I have visited this city hall for multiple occasions and its still so beautiful. I love the architecture here, the open courtyard, the arch hall ways and structural pillars. My most recent photo session was a wedding where there Romantics were photographed here as the ceremony was at a church down the street.
One of the best city halls, featuring exotic architecture and a beautiful fountain surrounded by flowers. A rigid, overly bureaucratic work culture does not belong here. This place would be far better suited to a classic museum or cultural environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
Breathtaking city hall, whenever I walk in Pasadena or drive through it to get food or anything else, I always see this. It’s so cool, and the view of it is honestly quite stunning—it’s so big! If they allow you inside, I need to see!
I recently photographed an engagement session at Pasadena City Hall, and it’s truly one of the most elegant and diverse photo locations in Los Angeles. The European-style architecture, open courtyard and gardens, and warm natural light create a timeless backdrop for engagement and wedding photography. Every corner offers a unique composition — from grand arches to quiet garden paths. It’s a place that feels both romantic and cinematic. Just keep in mind that you’ll need a photo permit to shoot here, but it’s absolutely worth it for such a stunning location.
