Farmers Market
Sitka, Alaska
Sitka Farmers Market is hosted by the Sitka Local Foods Network, a nonprofit focused on increasing the amount of locally produced and harvested food in the diets of Southeast Alaskans. That mission gives this market a distinct shape: it is not only a place to shop on Saturday mornings, but also an outlet tied directly to local growing and food access work. In Sitka, where season and supply can narrow quickly, that emphasis on local production feels especially concrete. The market runs at 235 Katlian Street and draws together produce, prepared food, and locally made goods in a compact weekly window from June through September.
The strongest throughline here is food tied closely to Sitka’s own growing and harvesting network, with a smaller-market mix that also includes handmade goods and prepared items. Visitors have specifically pointed to fresh vegetables, baked goods, fry bread, Navajo tacos, jewelry, and artwork among the regular draws.
No dogs are allowed, a detail worth planning around before you head to 235 Katlian Street for the Saturday market. SNAP/EBT is accepted, and the market also notes cash and check payments through its market manager, Debe Brincefield. Restrooms are not available on-site, so shorter visits may be easier to manage, especially if you are shopping with kids or timing a quick stop between other Sitka plans. The market’s host organization has also noted using both indoor and outdoor space at ANB Hall, with the layout shifting indoors when the vendor count is smaller. That flexible setup matters in Southeast Alaska, where weather and weekly participation can shape how the market feels from one Saturday to the next.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at Sitka Farmers Market, an important fit with the Sitka Local Foods Network’s broader mission around local food access in Southeast Alaska. The market also references cash and check payments through market manager Debe Brincefield. Payment details are clearer here than at many small seasonal markets, which helps if you are planning a produce-focused stop.
Indoor and outdoor spaces are available; if there are not many vendors, the market may move all people inside. During COVID-19 risk levels (Moderate or High), masks are encouraged inside the ANB Hall; vendors and customers are encouraged to wear masks, use hand sanitizer, and avoid bunching up with six feet of space.

I have been coming to the farmers market the last couple weeks and it is amazing. They always have great treats and food. There is locally made items that are more authentic than what you see at the gift shops. Everything from jewelry to art work, baked goods and fresh vegetables. They serve fry bread and Navajo tacos and it is amazing. If you are touring through Sitka check to see if it will be there on Saturdays from 10 to 1
Beach asparagus from Gimbal Botanicals is always a highlight for me. It'll take the place of kosher salt in all of my cooking for the next week!
There was lots of variety to check out. We have such a talented community!!!!
